of the Volunteer Prevention Group

If you're an older girl or younger woman, age 13 to 17, who is concerned about risk of HIV and who wants straight answers to important questions, this group's for you.

As women of all colors (some of us are Caribbean American, others are African American and Latina), our overriding concern is to support girls and young women in developing a healthy life style - a life style that honors them.

If you are female and are 13 to 17 years old, the Just for Girls Support Group is a place where you can --

• Get group support to use your power in your own best interests.
• Figure out how to deal with the pressures that can undermine your power - negative peer pressure and cultural beliefs that keep girls and young women down.
• Understand how some behaviors can put you at high risk.
• Practice how to deal with those behaviors and how to keep yourself safe so you can be your own powerful self.
